Lip fillers

Less is more! I rarely inject more than 0.7ml per session. My detailed knowledge of lips from expert training in fillers, fat transfer, lip reconstruction after cancer, trauma and dog bites as well as training in cleft lip surgery means I approach lips differently. Big lip filler volumes gives big problems down the line with filler migration and blobs instead of luscious lips!

Lip shortening

Lip shortening can be both an age reversing and beautifying procedure. The procedure carried out under local anaesthetic, with a classical 'Bull's horn' surgical operation to remove the excess tissue and redefine the lip contour. The scar will generally lie just below the nose within the natural interface between the nose and the lip. Scars placed within such areas of anatomical interface generally hide very well as they are not perceived by the eye and fall within a natural shadow or crease.

Lip augmentation and lengthening

Also carried out under local anaesthetic, lip lengthening addresses a gummy smile and has been so named a gummy tuck (Yes I know - Face palm emoji). Anyway, the incision is made inside the mouth and the scar therefore is hidden. The internal architecture of the upper ip is then changed to an inferior or lower position to lengthen the inside of the lip and provide some volumetric changes to the main part of the lip. The main issue is with salty and spicy foods whilst the wound heals, but after this typically the area will heal very well.
